Tamil Nadu is the southeasternmost state of India. It includes Mamallapuram, the site of the Shunpiker Summit.

Tamil Nadu, like the other states of South India is Dravidian in culture and language, speaking Tamil rather than one of the Indo-Aryan languages of the north, such as Hindi.

The capital of Tamil Nadu is Chennai.
