I know you hero boy.
You were clean and hard as a marble.
You stretched yourself over a dying dream beast,
Shuddering with nostalgia.
You touched naked torso to the animal,
Gave it your warmth.
The rain sleeked you.
Jewels beaded your back, each reflecting a moon.
I know you hero boy.
You protected that shy kid in the locker room.
Towel wrapped around your slim waist,
Your nipples sparked and flared, stretched tight over muscle.
Your jaw bone, sharp as a blade, drew bully blood.
The other boys turned away,
Destroyed by shame.
I know you hero boy.
Your big biceps remind me of something holy and lethal.
Once you got drunk and fell asleep in the park,
And of course I watched over you all night.
And when you fell in love with that girl,
Didn't I carry your messages and bring her flowers?
And when it was time,
Didn't I die on cue?
