I am tempted to call in favors.
I am tempted to flash my badge.
I want to be recognized,
Even as I hide my head.
Tall buildings loom,
Strangers stare.
And we trace each other's
Shadows on naked walls.
Flesh and cinder block
Shudder beneath
Anonymous touch.

Looking for a hero's number,
I call a silent assassin as well.
Meeting beneath my window,

terrible love song,
Inviting me
Out to play
Hide-and-seek
